Frankfort Craft Fair

When you come to the Frankfort-Elberta area on June 18 you won't be disappointed. We are starting the summer season off with plenty of activities to enjoy! On Saturday, June 18th, the Frankfort-Elberta Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding its Annual Frankfort Craft Fair from 10 am - 4 pm. The Fair will be on Main Street in downtown Frankfort between 4th and 5th Streets. With over 75 booths of quality crafters & artists, you are sure to find that perfect gift or item for your home or garden. You can also check out the downtown retailers, restaurants and farmer's market at the same time! If you are a vendor that would like to participate in this wonderful Craft Fair we are still accepting applications. 

As always, Frankfort and Elberta have much to offer, so after you've enjoyed these events - check out the area! Nitecrawler Hunt & Take a Kid Fishing

This fun family event is back!  Join us for this FUN Weekend!


The Annual Take-A-Kid Fishing will be held June 24-25 at Mineral Springs Park in Downtown Frankfort.  The fun begins with a Nite-crawler Hunt on June 24 at approximately 9:30pm.  The Kids gather at Mineral Springs Park at dusk with their flashlights, rain gear (just in case) and buckets to gather their WORMS!  Gotta have worms to go Fishin'.

Then, June 25, bright and early, starting at 8 a.m., bring the whole family to enjoy a day of FISHING!   The kids will receive free t-shirts, free pizza (compliments of Frankfort A. Papano's Pizza), drinks & sweet treats compliments of Family Fare and Frankfort-Elberta Chamber of Commerce.  Kids!  Bring your fishing rod.  If you don't have one, we will provide one to you!

There will be no entry fees and no licenses required for kids!  No kid is turned away but should be ask that every kid is accompanied by a parent or adult.  IN previous year's year we have had more than 100 kids show up for these fun events.

This fun family tradition officially kicks off summer at Michigan Legacy Art Park!

Art projects at Discovery Grove
Stories and songs by Luunappi!
Followed by a parade to the Fort for the annual flag raising, led by drummers!

Want to join?  Bring the whole family and join us at 10am at the trailhead on June 25th. We will have you head up to the amphitheater to where Luunappi will be set up, along with the art projects and more!

Cherry Pie Sale

The Frankfort United Methodist Church unit of the United Methodist Women is holding a cherry pie sale. Pies have to be pre-ordered starting July 1 with Kathy Fishburn, 231-352-7914. Proceeds will support local, national, and global mission projects.

Only 300 pies will be made.  You can place orders until sold out.

Pie pickup dates and times: Thursday, July 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday, July 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Family Golf Scramble: Shotgun start begins at 8:30am!

Firecracker Short Track Mountain Bike Race: Held at 10am. This high-energy, spectator friendly event features off-road racing on a short circuit. Riders will traverse terrain with steep climbs, technical descents, forest trails, rocky paths and obstacles within the race. Learn more »

Bike & Golf Cart Parade - Held at 4:30pm. Our theme is Red, White, Blue, and Americana Fun! Free to participate. Guests must use their own personal bikes or golf carts for the parade.

Registration available from June 25 - July 2, 2022 at the Mountain Adventure Zone or call us at  888-968-7686 ext. 7500. Each participant will receive a number to display on their bike or golf cart. Entries are subject to review. Registrants must be lined up at 4pm at the Mountain Adventure Zone for judging. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 golf carts and top 3 bikes! 

Golf Cart Prizes

  • First Place: Dinner for Two at the Thistle Pub & Grille
  • Second Place: Prize Pack from the Mountain Market
  • Third Place: Meal Vouchers for the Beach House

Bike Prizes

  • First Place: One-Hour Complimentary Alpine Slide Reservation
  • Second Place: One Adventure Sport Choice (Adventure Course, Climbing Wall, Outdoor Laser Tag, Archery, or Archery Tag)
  • Third Place: One Craft Program (Excludes Build-A-Buddy)

Backyard Bash: Held from 5 - 9pm. Enjoy music and dancing plus lawn games, treats and more! Additional details coming soon.

Inflatable Activities  - Held on the Lodge Lawn from 5 - 9pm. Each activity will require a wristband, which can be purchased at the Mountain Adventure Zone, Park at Water's Edge or ticket booth on the Lodge Lawn during the event. $20 per wristband for unlimited use of the inflatables.  Waivers are required for these activities.

Chairlift Rides - Held from 10am - 4pm and 5pm - 9pm. No Downhill Mountain Biking from 5 - 9pm.

Frankfort/Elberta Medallion Hunt

Frankfort's Annual July 4th celebration will begin on July 1st at 10:00 AM with the posting of the first clue for the Annual Medallion Hunt. A new clue will be posted each morning until the Medallion is found. On the 4th, if the medallion has not been found - the clue will be posted AFTER THE PARADE is over at the Chamber office! The clues can be obtained at the Frankfort-Elberta Area Chamber of Commerce office at 517 Main Street. The winner will receive a check for $150.

Join us for the opener to the Summer Sounds Concert Series at Michigan Legacy Art Park! We welcome Cary Morin who crafts an inimitable style often characterized as roots-infused Native Americana with hints of bluegrass, folk, blues, and rock.

Arrive early to allow for 1/4-mile hike to amphitheater.

General Admission: $10 in advance, $15 at door

Kids 12-and-under: Free

Held in a picturesque setting in the woods of Northern Michigan, in a rustic amphitheater, this concert will be one to make summer memories!

Join us for the inaugural Firecracker Short Track Mountain Bike Race!  It's going to be fast, fun and over before you know it.  This  high-energy, spectator friendly event features off-road racing on a  short circuit. Cabbage Shed 2nd Annual Cabbage Eating Contest

Join us for the 2nd year in a row as 7 BENZIE County residents have 4 minutes to eat as much Cabbage as they can!
Who will walk away with the cash prize of $250, the coveted green belt of champions, and possibly some extra gas to get them home?

Our non profit partner this year is our Elberta Community Farmers Market. This beautiful, local market occurs every Thursday all summer long at Penfolds Park and features local farmers and vendors from all over. We will be collecting donations for the market all weekend long.
