ST. PATRICK’S DAY DINNER TO HELP THOSE IN NEED

The Missions Ministry of Blaine Christian Church, 7018 Putney Road, Arcadia (corner of Joyfield and Putney Roads), will host and serve a Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner at 6 pm, Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the church.  The Benzie County community is invited to our Annual Week Of Compassion (WoC) disaster relief dinner.

The entire amount of the evening’s freewill offering will be given to the Week Of Compassion organization.  In 2018, they were among the first relief agencies at our nation’s recent disasters - California wild fire and floods; North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia hurricanes; Illinois tornado; Kentucky and West Virginia fires.

The evening will also feature a special video presentation by Erin Wathen, from Week of Compassion's National Office.  She will share an overview about current relief work being done, and information about a new rehabilitation initiative in Honduras called “Growing Hope Globally”.  This fits  this year’s Week Of Compassion theme:  “MORE  THAN  WE  CAN  IMAGINE”.

To make sure enough food is prepared, the reservation deadline is no later than Tuesday, March 12th.  Call the church, 231/352-9148, or send an email:  blainechurch@gmail.com.  The church can also answer questions and provide directions.

The church family at Blaine Christian Church believes in working locally and around the world, and desires to serve the physical and spiritual needs of our community.  We support the annual work of Week of Compassion, the relief, refugee, and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples Of Christ) in the U.S. and Canada, who seek to equip people so they can alleviate suffering through disaster response, humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and the promotion of mission opportunities.

You and your family are welcome to meet Blaine’s church family on Sunday mornings at 8:30 am (praise and worship service), or at 11 am (blended/ traditional service).  Separate activities are provided at each service for children 3 years old - 1st grade.  Sunday School classes for children 2 years old through adults meet at 9:45 am.  More information is on the church’s website:  blainechristianchurch.org.
